500 Copenhagen Retailers Join Youth-Led Drug Campaign in Scientology-Endorsed Anti-Drug Campaign

Children from the Danish branch of Truth About Drugs are taking action in Copenhagen to spread factual drug education materials across 500 shops. Their outreach, supported by Scientology volunteers, continues a decades-old tradition to raise awareness about drug risks among youth.

Over the course of recent months, volunteers aged 10 to 20 engaged with small shop owners to ask them to carry copies of *The Truth About Drugs* booklet. The materials — produced by the Foundation for a Drug-Free World — offer evidence-based information on the dangers of drug use, including hashish, alcohol, and synthetic substances.

“They are showing adults they care,” said Giulia, a campaign spokesperson. “They’re not just handing out flyers — they’re educating a community.”

Recent statistics support the urgency of their mission. A new report by the Aarhus University’s Drug Research Center revealed that use of marijuana by Danish youth aged 15–25 has fallen from 44% in 2014 to 31.6% in 2025. Among boys in the same age group, use dropped from more than half to one-third.

According to researchers quoted in a recent national news story, this change is partly due to public awareness and a decline in willingness to take risks.
